2-9. Replacing the Encapsulated Cable
Assembly/TRIAX Assembly

2-9-1. HDC1000 (Encapsulated Cable Assembly)

1. Open the left side panel. (Refer to Section 1-4.)
2. Remove the two screws, and remove the harness
guard.
3. Disconnect the harness of the encapsulated cable
assembly from the power assembly.

4. Release the harness and cables from the three harness
clamps.
5. Disconnect the harness from the connector (CN102)
on the SDI-84 board.
6. Disconnect the optical fiber cables from the E/O
converter module CP201 and O/E converter module
CP401 on the SDI-84 board.

. If optical fiber cable is bent or pulled strongly, it
may be disconnected. Handle optical fiber cables
carefully.
. Do not touch the tip of optical fiber cable connector.
This may result in deterioration of signals.

7. Remove the four screws, and remove the connector
box.
8. Remove the four screws, and pull out the encapsulated
cable assembly.

9. Install the encapsulated cable assembly by reversing
the steps above.

. Check cable numbers when connecting optical fiber
cables, and insert the cable connector as far as it will
go.
. Arrange the harness and cables as shown below, and
clamp them with the three harness clamps.

Optical fiber cable (No.1)
. When connecting the optical fiber cables to the E/O
converter module CP201 or O/E converter module
CP401 on the SDI-84 board, clean the connecting
connectors. (Refer to Section 1-8.)
