4. Adjustment

4-16. [F7]: Flash Adjustment

[Preparations]
Ensure that the gray chart is available before begin-
ning flash adjustment.

See the [Setup for Flash Adjustment] diagram at
right.
[note]
1) As flash adjustment is readily affected by external light,
ensure that the vicinity of the gray chart is very dark.
2) Ensure that distance is measured from the front of
the camera during flash adjustment.
3) When adjusting the flash, always ensure that AF adjust-
ment is complete before beginning flash adjustment.
<Step 1>
Select [F7] from [Adjustment Select Screen (Fig.4)] (ie
press the [F7] key on the computer).
---> The [Flash Adjustment Preparation Screen (Fig.25)] is
displayed.
<Step 2>
Follow the instructions on the [Flash Adjustment Prepara-
tion Screen (Fig.25], and make the following preparations.
(1) Ensure that the gray chart is available.
(2) Mount the camera on a tripod.
When preparations are complete, press the [Enter] key
on the computer.
---> The [Flash Adjustment Start Screen (Fig.26)] is displayed.
<Step 3>
Follow the instructions on the [Flash Adjustment Start
Screen (Fig.26)], and make the following preparations.
(1) Adjust so that the distance between the camera and
the gray chart is 1000±10mm.
(2) Ensure that the entire gray chart is displayed on the
camera LCD monitor.
(3) Raise the flash.
(4) Minimize the effects of external light.
When preparations are complete, press the [Enter] key
on the computer.
---> Flash adjustment begins.
---> Save the adjusted data to the flash ROM when adjust-
ment is completed normally.
<Step 4>
[Flash Adjustment Complete Screen (Fig.27)] is dis-
played when the adjusted data is saved normally.
Press the [Enter] key on the computer while in the [Flash
Voltage Adjustment Complete Screen (Fig.27)].
---> The [Adjustment Select Screen (Fig.4)] is displayed.
(note)
The only adjustments required are End Setting and Prod-
uct Model Check.
