Replacing the air filter FR 2211R,
FR 2211M, FR 2213MA, FR 2216A
If the engine seems to lack power or does not run smoothly
this may be because the air filter is clogged. It is therefore
important to replace the air filter at regular intervals (see
Maintenance/Maintenance Schedule for the correct service
interval).
Replace the air filter as follows:
1 Open the engine cover.
2 Pull up the handle on the air filter cover, unhook and turn
towards the engine.
3 Remove the air filter cover.
4 Lift out the air filter cartridge from the fan housing.
5 Replace the air filter cartridge, if clogged with dirt.
IMPORTANT INFORMATION
Do not use compressed air to clean the paper filter.
Do not oil the paper filter. They must be fitted dry.
6 Carefully lift the precleaner out of the fan housing.

Carefully clean the fan housing so that dirt does not fall
down into the carburettor.
8 Insert a new precleaner and air filter cartridge in the fan
housing.
9 Align the tabs on the cover with the slits in the housing and
replace the air filter cover.

10 Pull the handle outwards. Secure the handle in the air filter
cover and close the cover by pressing it inwards.

It is therefore important to replace the air filter at regular
intervals (see Maintenance/Maintenance Schedule for the
correct service interval).
Replace the air filter as follows:
1 Open the engine cover.
2 Loosen the fasteners on the sides of the air filter cowling
and remove the cowling.
3 Unscrew the knob in the centre of the filter cartridge and
remove the filter holder.
4 Carefully remove the pre-cleaner from the cartridge.
Replace the pre-cleaner with a new one.
5 Lift out the air filter cartridge from the fan housing.
Replace the air filter cartridge, if clogged with dirt.
6 Clean the filter by knocking the filter against a flat surface.
Never use solvent with petroleum, for example, kerosene,
or compressed air to clean the filter.
IMPORTANT!
Do not use compressed air or solvent with petroleum to
clean the cartridge. The filters must not be oiled. They must
be fitted dry.
