Chapter 7. Communication To/From the DVR
Setting Serial Ports
To set the serial port, fi rst select the COM (communication port) :
∙ COM1 and COM3 are fi xed to RS-232C
∙ COM2 uses RS-422/RS485
∙ COM4 uses RS-485.
1. Access the Serial submenu (to the right of the COM selection).
2. For the Devise option, select a connected device.
3. Set the other selections— Baud rate, the Parity, Stop Bit and Data Bit—as appropriate for the
device you've chosen.
Setting PTZ Options
To set PTZ options for your cameras, fi rst specify the camera's channel, 1 through 16.
1. Select a PTZ channel and access the popup for PTZ submenu.
2. Select a port that is connected to the camera channel and set PTZ Port.
3. Select an appropriate protocol for the PTZ camera control.
4. Select the Camera ID of the connected PTZ camera.
5. Set the PTZ Idle Time. This idle time is the duration of time before which the camera returns to
home position. For example, if you set this to 5 seconds, PTZ returns to Home position when
PTZ is not controlled for more than 5 seconds.

7. 5 Setting up IP Filters

You can selectively block or allow IPs to access the SVR-1670.

Option
Use
Select to use the IP fi lter.
Default Policy
Select to block or allow IPs using the default policy.
IP Range
Select a range of IPs to block or allow; Check the checkbox, and then enter the IPs.
