Checking The Fuel Pump's Air Filter - Jonsered Frontrider FR2216MA 4X4 Operator's Manual

IMPORTANT INFORMATION
Do not use compressed air to clean the paper filter.
The filters must not be oiled. They must be fitted dry.
5 Carefully lift the precleaner out of the fan housing.
Carefully clean the fan housing so that dirt does not fall
down into the carburettor.
6 Insert a new precleaner and air filter cartridge in the fan
housing.
7 Align the tabs on the cover with the slits in the housing and
replace the air filter cover.
8 Pull the handle outwards. Secure the handle in the air filter
cover and close the cover by pressing it inwards.

1 Open the engine cover.
2 Loosen the fasteners on the sides of the air filter cowling
and remove the cowling.

3 Unscrew the knob in the centre of the filter cartridge and
remove the filter holder.
4 Carefully remove the pre-cleaner from the cartridge.
Replace the pre-cleaner with a new one.
5 Lift out the air filter cartridge from the fan housing.
Replace the air filter cartridge, if clogged with dirt.
6 Clean the filter by knocking the filter against a flat surface.
Never use solvent with petroleum, for example, kerosene,
or compressed air to clean the filter.

8 Fit the filter cartridge, filter holder and then screw on the
knob.
9 Slide the pre-cleaner over the cartridge.

Check regularly that the fuel pump's air filter is free from dirt.

The filter can when necessary be cleaned with a brush.
