Removing/Installing Sector Block

NOTE: For this procedure, refer to
FIGURE 9.7.
NOTE: To install the sector block, reverse this
procedure.
1. Remove the mounting screw securing
the sector block to the wheel chair
frame.
2. Remove the sector block from the
wheelchair frame.

Adjusting Forks

NOTE: For this procedure, refer to FIGURE 9.8.
1. Remove the dust cover from the caster
headtube.
NOTE: The sector block may need to be
removed in order to remove the dust cover.
Refer to Removing/Installing Sector Block on
page 53.
2. To properly tighten caster journal
system and guard against flutter,
perform the following check:
A. Tip back the wheelchair to floor.
B. Pivot both forks and casters to top
of their arc simultaneously.
C. Let casters drop to bottom of arc.
D. Adjust locknuts according to
freedom of caster swing.
3. Repeat STEPS C‐D until the wheels
swing once to one‐side, then
immediately rest in a straight
downward position.
4. Test wheelchair for maneuverability.
5. Snap dust cover into the caster
headtube.
