External Flash (optional)
After attaching the flash (DMW-FL360L, DMW-FL580L: optional), the effective range will
be increased when compared to the camera's built in flash.
Preparations:
• Turn off the camera and close the built-in flash.
Removing the Hot Shoe Cover
The camera comes with a hot shoe cover attached to the hot shoe.
Remove the hot shoe cover by pulling it in the
direction indicated by arrow 2 while pressing it in
the direction indicated by arrow 1 .

When the hot shoe is not in use, make sure to attach the hot shoe
cover.
•
Please be careful not to lose the hot shoe cover.
• Keep the Hot Shoe Cover out of reach of children to prevent
swallowing.

Using the dedicated flash (DMW-FL360L: optional)

Attach the dedicated flash to the hot shoe and then turn on the camera and the
dedicated flash.

Select the menu.

Press 3/4 to select [Flash Mode] and then press [MENU/SET].

Press 3/4 to select an item and then press [MENU/SET].

While the external flash is connected, the following icons are displayed.
: External flash Forced ON
: External flash Slow Sync.
Œ: External flash Forced OFF

Signal-flashing with wireless flashes is also disabled.
