MATCH LIGHTING THE GRILL
If the burner will not light after several attempts using the control knobs, the burner may be lit
with a match.
1. If you have already attempted to light the burner with the igniter, allow 5 minutes for any
accumulated gas to dissipate.
2. Insert a match into the lighting rod. Ignite the match and insert through the cooking grids to
the burner.
3. Press and turn the control knob to the "IGNITE/HI" setting. Continue to press the knob until
the burner ignites. The burner should light immediately.
4. If the burner does not ignite within 4 seconds, turn the control knob to the "OFF" position.
Wait 5 minutes for the gas to dissipate and try again.
WARNING
When lighting, keep your face and body as far
away from the grill as possible.
Lighting Rod
CAUTION
When using a match to light the grill make sure to use
the attached lighting rod.
