This function only has any effect if Pulse wave is selected for any of the oscillators (or both). It adjusts
the pulse width of the Pulse waves. There's only one Pulse Width setting, and it is common for both os-
cillators.
• When you turn the knob all the way to the left you get a perfect square wave which has a characteristic
"hollow" quality.
• When you turn the knob clockwise, the sounds gets progressively thinner. See
introduction to pulse waves and pulse widths.

Please note that the Pulse Width can be modulated by LFO 1 and the Modulation Envelope. This creates
a sweeping "chorus-like" effect suitable for pads and string sounds.

An amplifier is most often used at the final stage of a synth signal chain, to control volume. By modulat-
ing the amplifier with an envelope, the sound can be given its basic "shape". In fact, the "volume shape"
is one of the most important factors to how we identify the sound. By setting up a proper volume enve-
lope you can make a sound "soft", "hard", "plucked" "static" etc.
The volume envelope curve (to the left) determines how the amplitude of the waveform changes over
time.
