2.12 Making Console Connection

The connector designed for the console port is RJ-45 and has the pin-assignments as follows:
State Interpretation
ON The power is supplied to the switch.
OFF The power is not supplied to the switch.
ON A 1000M link is established on the port. (No traffic)
BLINK Port 1000Mbps link is up and there is traffic.
OFF Port link is down.
ON A 10M or 100M link is established on the port.
BLINK Port link is up and there is traffic.
OFF Port link is down.
ON PoE power is delivered on the port.
OFF PoE power is off.
ON Port 7 SFP fiber is in use.
OFF Port 7 RJ-45 is in use.
ON Port 8 SFP fiber is in use.
OFF Port 8 RJ-45 is in use.
ON System diagnostics & initialization finished
OFF System diagnostics & initialization in process
