The electronics compartment is only to be accessed by skilled service
technicians. It contains high voltages wires and circuitry. Disconnect
the power cord to eliminate the risk of electric shock and short circuits
before removing the left-hand panel.
Never run the printer without the left-hand panel installed because of
the risk of radio interference. Approvals are only valid when the cover is
installed.
Take standard precautions against ESD (Electrostatic Discharges)
before touching any electronics components inside the electronics com-
partment.
1 Disconnect the power cord.
2 Open the right-hand door.
3 Remove the screws in front of the front hinge and to the rear of the rear
hinge.
4 Close the right-hand door.
5 Using for example a fl at-tipped screwdriver, pry the panel upwards until
it comes free. Protect the paint by inserting for example a thin piece of
cardboard or similar between the plate and the screwdriver.
6 Put the panel aside on a soft piece of cloth or similar to avoid scratches.
1 Making sure that the leaf springs along the rear edge of the panel
embrace the edge of the rear plate, push down the panel. Check that the
leaf springs along the bottom edge fi t the bottom plate.
2 Open the right-hand door.
3 Secure the panel using two screws inserted from the media compart-
ment.
4 Reconnect the power cord.
