Fax connections

After completing all the steps in the Set-up Poster, follow the instructions in this section to connect the fax
feature of your Kodak AiO printer.
Phone lines
The Kodak 5500 AiO printer is an analogue device and standard phone lines are analogue. However, cable
lines and some office PBX systems are digital. When connecting your 5500 AiO to a digital phone line,
connect a digital-to-analogue adaptor between your digital line and your 5500 AiO.
NOTE: Some cable companies install a digital-to-analogue adaptor with their phone service.
DSL line
If you have Digital Subscriber Line (DSL) service through your phone company, follow the instructions in
this section to connect a DSL filter between the telephone wall jack and your Kodak AiO printer. This filter
removes the digital signal that would block your AiO printer from communicating properly with the
telephone line.
CAUTION
If you have a DSL line and do not connect the DSL filter, you will not be able to send and receive
faxes with your AiO printer.
Obtain a DSL filter from your DSL provider.
1
Connect the phone cord supplied with your Kodak AiO printer to the open port on the DSL filter and the
2
port labelled 1-LINE.
Connect the DSL filter cord to the telephone wall jack.
