"Check Message" printouts

If a fax call ends and your machine detects an error, it will print a
"Check Message" report. This printout lists the following informa-
tion:
• The error code.
• A communications error messages (see below).
• The phone number (or TTI) of the remote fax machine.
• The phone line number (line #1 or line #2 on your machine).

The error messages below are in addition to those listed in the
"Error Message" section of your machines operating instructions:

Possible meanings
The machine couldn't call because the
line is set for reception only.
The machine couldn't call because the
location number contains a dialing
character (/X) for PBX, but the line is
set for an outside line (PSTN).
The machine couldn't call because the
line is an inside line, and the loca-
tion number does not contain a PSTN
access number.
The line or the remote fax machine
prevented communication.
