Error code

Occasionally, your machine will detect a problem with the phone line
during transmission. If this happens, your machine will print an
error report. The error code listed in the "Result" column of the error
report indicates the specific problem.
The following error codes are in addition to the error codes listed in
the user's guide of your machine:

The call couldn't be completed. This occurs when the com-
munication type for both phone lines is set to Rx (receive-
only).
The call couldn't be completed. The phone line type is set to
PSTN, but the telephone number dialed is a PBX extension.
The call couldn't be completed. The phone line type is set to
PBX, but the telephone number dialed is a PSTN number.
You must register a PSTN access number to reach an out-
side line.
The fax machine didn't detect the silence at the end of the
call, which is necessary to receive an RCR.
A compatibility error has occurred.
Line noise or other problems prevented communication.
The fax machine timed out while waiting for a signal.
The fax machine didn't detect silence which marks the end
of a call.
A compatibility error has occurred.
Line noise or other problems prevented communication.
The remote fax machine didn't complete the equalizer
training phase.
