Never switch on an empty oven
It is important to use the correct kitchen utensil.
* It must not be made of materials which prevent microwaves from heating the food.
* Nor must it release dangerous substances into the food.
1. When microwave only is used
Use bowls and dishes of glass, porcelain or plastic without metal, which are able to resist the high temperature of the food.
Place the utensil to be tested for metal, e.g. a plate, empty on the glass turntable in the oven. Also place a bowl suitable for
microwaves containing 1 dl of water in the oven. Microwave at 1000 watts for 30 seconds.
If the plate has become warm there is metal in it and it is therefore unsuitable for use in microwave ovens.
Paper and plastic
Plastic trays and plastic coated cardboard boxes of PET (polyethylene terephthalate) and microwave film.
Baking paper, but not kitchen foil can be used in the microwave. See page En-4.
When should the food be covered?
A lid or film should generally be used during cooking to retain the moisture. Use a dish with lid or microwave film.
2. When a combination of grill and
microwave is used.
When cooking using this combination, plastic must not be used
but ovenproof bowls or dishes without any metal may be used.
However the metal oven accessories supplied can be used. This
is because they have been specially developed for use in a
Panasonic oven and because the oven, when used in
combination, operates at lower microwave powers. The food
must not be covered in this case.

bowls can be used. The metal oven accessories supplied can
also be used. The food must not be covered in this case.
