Troubleshooting

Incorrect operations are often mistaken for trouble and malfunctions. If you think that there is
something wrong with this component, check the points below. Sometimes the trouble may lie
in another component. Investigate the other components and electrical appliances being used.
If the trouble cannot be rectified even after exercising the checks listed below, ask your nearest
Pioneer authorized service center or your dealer to carry out repair work.
• If the unit does not operate normally due to external effects such as static electricity
disconnect the power plug from the outlet and insert again to return to normal operating
conditions.

General

Problem
The power does not turn on.
The power suddenly switches off
automatically and won't switch
back on for a minute or so. Also,
the timer indicator is blinking.
No sound is output when a
function is selected.
No image is output when
watching discs.

Remedy
• Connect the power plug to the wall outlet.
• Disconnect the power plug from the outlet, and insert again.
• Make sure the power source is the right voltage for the AC
inlet.
• If the speaker cables aren't connected properly, the system has
a safety feature that shuts the power off automatically. Check the
speaker wires to make sure they're connected properly. If there
appears to be nothing wrong, try switching the power back on
after the timer indicator has been blinking for a minute or so.
• Make sure the VOLTAGE SELECTOR on the rear of the unit is
set correctly for your area. If it needs to be reset, switch to the
correct setting then wait for one minute (with the timer indicator
blinking), then switch the unit back on.
• If you can't seem to switch the power back on after the timer
indicator has been blinking for over a minute, the unit may be
malfunctioning. Take it to your nearest Pioneer authorized
service center or your dealer to carry out repair work.
• If you're using the line input, make sure the component is
connected correctly (see Connecting auxiliary components on
page 14).
