Installation on a Mac OS

When installation is completed, the message
shown at the right appears.
Click the [Restart] button.
The Macintosh restarts.
Note
• When installation failed, restart the Macintosh and uninstall
(P. 91) and then reinstall the printer driver.
CONNECTING THE PRINTER
Connect the printer to the Macintosh and check if the USB printer driver is installed correctly.

Set the printer [USB MODE] switch to [PRINTER] and turn the power off.

Connect the printer to the Macintosh using a USB cable.

Turn the printer power on.

The Macintosh automatically recognizes the printer.
The printer can now be used.
DISCONNECTING THE PRINTER
To disconnect the printer from the Macintosh, use the following procedure.

Check that the printer is not operating.

Turn the printer power off.

Unplug the USB cable from the printer.

CONNECTING THE PRINTER AS A CARD READER
Connect the printer as a card reader and check that the USB Mass Storage Driver was installed
correctly. The Mass Storage Driver is installed at "FinePixViewer" installation.
Note
• When using the printer as a card reader, do not touch the [EJECT] button while the [BUSY] lamp is blinking.

Set the printer [USB MODE] switch to [CARD READER] and turn the power off.

Connect the printer to the Macintosh using a USB cable.

Turn the printer power on.
Note
• When disconnecting the printer, always turn the power off using the specified procedure.
• When connecting the printer and Macintosh, do not perform the following operations. The memory card or the data
on the memory card may be destroyed.
Do not disconnect the USB cable or touch the printer (power switch, operation buttons, etc.)

Load a photographed memory card into the printer.
Note
• Do not format the memory card on the Macintosh as this may take the card unusable for taking pictures.

FinePixViewer is automatically started and the pictures on the memory card are
displayed. A new "Removable disk" icon also appears on the desktop.
Note
• If FinePixViewer does not start up and the removable disk icon does not appear, the software was not installed
correctly. Disconnect the printer and restart the Macintosh and then reinstall the software. If this does not resolve
the problem, refer to the Troubleshooting section.
T I P
• The Exif Launcher installed
with the FinePixViewer
automatically
launches
FinePixViewer when the
printer is connected to the
Macintosh.
