WARNING
Before servicing the car,
switch off the engine and re-
move the key from the ignition de-
vice, activating the steering lock, es-
pecially when car wheels do not
touch the ground. If this is not possi-
ble (if the key must be on MAR or the
engine must be running), remove the
main fuse which protects the electric
power steering.

PARKING SENSORS

(where provided)
Parking sensors are located in the rear
bumper fig. 63 and their function is to in-
form the driver, through an intermittent
buzzer, about the presence of obstacles
behind the car.
ACTIVATION
The sensors are automatically activated
when the reverse gear is engaged. As the
distance from the obstacle behind the car
decreases, the acoustic alarm becomes
more frequent.
SOUND ALARM
Engaging reverse gear, in the event of an
obstacle behind the car, a sound alarm ac-
tivates. The sound changes depending on
the distance between the bumper and the
obstacle.
The sound frequency:
❒ increases as the distance between the
car and the obstacle decreases;
❒ becomes continuous when the distance
between the car and the obstacle is less
than 30 cm. The sound immediately
stops if the distance increases.
❒ remains constant if the distance be-
tween the vehicle and the obstacle re-
mains unchanged.

Side operating range 60 cm

trol unit indicates the nearest one.
FAILURE INDICATIONS
Any parking sensor malfunction is indi-
cated, during reverse gear engagement, by
the instrument panel warning light è. The
warning light turns on and a message dis-
plays on the multifunction display (where
provided) (see section "Warning lights and
messages").
