7.17 Installing/Removing the Batteries (TDX SP with Vent Tray Option)

CAUTION
Place the wheelchair in a well ventilated area where work can be performed without risking damage to carpeting or floor
covering.

For this procedure, refer to FIGURE 15 on page 99.

Removing the Batteries

1. Place the wheelchair in a well ventilated area where work can be performed without risking damage to carpeting or floor covering.
2. Verify the joystick On/Off switch is in the Off position and disconnect joystick. Refer to Disconnecting/Connecting the Joysticks on page 86.
3. Remove the rear shroud, front shroud and battery retention bracket. Refer to Removing/Installing the Wheelchair Shrouds TDX SP/SR on
page 100.
4. Disconnect the wiring harness from the controller connector.
5. Disconnect the front battery wiring harness from the ventilator connector.
6. Slide battery tray with batteries out.
7. Disconnect the battery straps.
8. Remove the front battery from the battery tray.
9. Disconnect the right battery from the left battery.
10. Remove the right and left batteries from the battery tray.
