Joining Drill Chuck
& Arbor
an arbor is included for the drill chuck that
comes with this machine. the following procedure
describes how to install the arbor in the chuck.
after the arbor is installed in the drill chuck, it
is very difficult to separate the assembly. if you
would like to use a different chuck in the future,
we recommend obtaining a new arbor.
Important: DO NOT install the drill chuck and
arbor assembly into the spindle until AFTER the
test run.
To join the drill chuck and arbor:
1.
Use acetone or lacquer thinner to clean drill
chuck and arbor mating surfaces, especially
the bore.
2.
retract chuck jaws completely into chuck.
3.
insert small end of arbor into chuck.
4.
hold assembly by the arbor and tap chuck
onto a block of wood with medium force, as
illustrated in Figure 10.
