3.3 Canceling a Distress Call

Within five seconds after pressing the [DISTRESS]
key
If the [DISTRESS] key is pressed by mistake, press the [ALARM
STOP] key immediately (within 5 seconds). The distress call will
be canceled.

If more than five seconds elapses after the
[DISTRESS] key is pressed
1. Switch off equipment immediately.
2. Switch equipment on and set to Channel 16.
3. Transmit message to "All Stations" giving your vessel's name,
callsign and DSC number to cancel the distress alert.
Example message
All Stations, All Stations, All Stations
This is VESSEL'S NAME, CALLSIGN,
DSC NUMBER, POSITION.
Cancel my distress alert of
DATE, TIME, UTC.
=Master, VESSEL'S NAME, CALLSIGN.
DSC NUMBER, DATE, TIME UTC.
