The sid e airbags w ill not be trigg ered in the
event of:
z the ignition b eing switched off,
z frontal collisions,
z accidents in whic h the vehicle overturns,
if la teral impa ct is insufficient for side
airb ag deployment,
z collisions involving a rear-impa ct,
z collisions inv olv ing a side-impa ct outside
the passenger c ell.
Curtai n airbag s
The curtain airbag system is identified b y
the word " Airba g" on the roof frame, and
protects front seat and rear outboard seat
oc cup ants in the event of a sev ere side-
impact.
The curtain airbag system comprises:
z an airbag with inflator in the roof frame
above the doors on the driver's and
passenger' s side respec tiv ely,
z the control electronics,
z the side-impact sensors,
z the airbag systems control ind icator v in
the instrum ent cluster.
Seats, interior
The curtain a irba g system w ill be trigg ered :
z depending on the sev erity of the
accident,
z depending on the ty pe of im pact,
z within the range shown in the illustration,
z tog ether w ith the sid e airba g sy stem,
z ind epend ently of the front airbag
sy stem.
