The c ontrol indicator illumina tes to show
that the system is operational when the
doors are locked with the remote control or
the key. When the doors are unlocked with
the k ey or remote control, the control
indicator ex ting uishes.
To dea ctiv ate
Press b utton q on remote control
- or -
Unlock driver's door by turning key in d oor
lock towards front of v ehicle, then turn it
back to the vertica l position and remove:
z Haz ard warning lights flash twice,
z All doors are unlocked,
z Anti-theft sy stem is deactivated .
If the driver's door is not op ened, or the
engine is not started w ithin 30 seconds of
deactiv ation, all doors a re automatically
relocked and the sy stem is reac tiv ated.
If the alarm has been trigg ered, the haza rd
warning lig hts will not flash up on
deactiv ation.
Note
The anti-theft alarm system cannot be
deactiv ated in a ny other way , so keep a
spare key in a safe place.
Changes to the vehicle interior, such a s the
use of seat covers, could impair the
function of passenger comp artment
monitoring 3 .

Ala rm
While the alarm system is switched on, the
alarm can be triggered, indicated by :
z an acoustic signal (horn) a nd
z a visual sig nal (exterior lig hts).
The num ber and duration of the alarm s are
legally estab lished.
The alarm is stopp ed b y pressing q or p
on the remote control or by unlock ing
the driver's door with the correct key.
The anti-theft alarm system is deactivated
at the same tim e.
Ala rm siren wit h integrated b attery 3
The alarm siren monitors the on-board
voltage network and triggers an ala rm if
this network is manipulated (e.g . if the
vehicle's ba ttery is disconnected by
unauthorised persons). The alarm siren ha s
its own power supply and is therefore not
dependent on the vehicle's battery.
If the vehicle's battery is to be
disconnected (e.g. for maintenance w ork ),
the alarm siren must be dea ctivated as
follows: sw itch the ignition on then off,
disconnect the vehicle's battery within
15 seconds.
To swit ch off alarm siren:
S witc h ignition on then off.
