FLATLOCK 3
Select 3 and set up the machine.
Three threads form an unbalanced stitch that can be
pulled open into a flat seam. The seam resembles the
top stitch seen on ready-to-wear sweatshirts and knit
sportswear.
Common Uses
Garment construction on bulky knitwear.
Decorative accent
Thread in the following sequence:
1 Red (F) thread path for upper looper (page 67)
2 Green (G) thread path for lower looper (page 68)
3 Yellow (B2) thread path for R1 needle (page 63)
BLANKET STITCH
Select 4 and set up the machine.
An edge finish that uses decorative thread in the
needle. The upper and lower looper threads pull the
needle thread so it is visible on both the top and
underside of the fabric.
Common Uses
Edge finish for a single layer of fabric like a blanket
or felted scarf.
Decorative accent.
IMPORTANT:
Use medium weight decorative thread in the needle
and wooly nylon threads in both loopers.
Thread in the following sequence:
1 Red (F) thread path for upper looper (page 67)
2 Green (G) thread path for lower looper (page 68)
3 Yellow (C) thread path for R1 needle (page 64)
NOTE:
Bypass yellow tension disc. Thread should go directly
from thread guide bar to thread take-up area.
