Type your password again to make sure that you have entered it correctly.
Use the drop-down list box to select an authentication protocol for outgoing calls.
Options are:
CHAP/PAP - The ZyXEL device accepts either CHAP or PAP when requested by
this remote node.
CHAP - The ZyXEL device accepts CHAP only.
PAP - The ZyXEL device accept PAP only.
Use the drop-down list box to select the speed of the connection between the Dial
Backup port and the external device. Available speeds are: 9600, 19200, 38400,
57600, 115200 or 230400 bps.
Type the first (primary) phone number from the ISP for this remote node. If the
Primary Phone number is busy or does not answer, the ZyXEL device dials the
Secondary Phone number if available. Some areas require dialing the pound sign #
before the phone number for local calls. Include a # symbol at the beginning of the
phone numbers as required.
Type the AT command string to initialize the WAN device. Consult the manual of
your WAN device connected to your Dial Backup port for specific AT commands.
Click Advanced to display the Advanced Modem Setup screen and edit the details
of your dial backup setup.
Click Edit to display the Dial Backup TCP/IP Options screen.
Select CISCO PPP from the drop-down list box if your dial backup WAN device
uses Cisco PPP encapsulation, otherwise select Standard PPP.
Select this check box to turn on stac compression.
Select this check box to have the dial backup connection on all of the time.
Select this check box to have the dial backup connection on during the time that you
select.
Type the amount of time (in minutes) that the dial backup connection can be used
during the time configured in the Period field. Set an amount that is less than the
time period configured in the Period field.
Type the time period (in hours) for how often the budget should be reset. For
example, to allow calls to this remote node for a maximum of 10 minutes every
hour, set the Allocated Budget to 10 (minutes) and the Period to 1 (hour).
Type the number of seconds of idle time (when there is no traffic from the ZyXEL
device to the remote node) for the ZyXEL device to wait before it automatically
disconnects the dial backup connection. This option applies only when the ZyXEL
device initiates the call. The dial backup connection never times out if you set this
field to "0" (it is the same as selecting Always On).
Click Apply to save your changes back to the ZyXEL device.
Click Reset to begin configuring this screen afresh.
