Parking BrakeAdjustment
Neverattempt to adjust the brakeswhile the engine isrunning. Always
disengagePTO(bladeengage)lever,moveshift leverintoneutral position,
stop engineand removekeyto prevent unintendedstarting.
If the tractordoesnot cometo acomplete stopwhenthe brake pedaliscompletely
depressed, or if the tractor'srearwheels canrollwith the parkingbrake applied,
the brakeisin need of adjustment.Contact t he nearest S ears Service Center t o have
yourbrakes properlyadjusted.

Cutting DeckRemoval
Toremovethe cuttingdeck, proceedasfollows:
I.
Place the PTO (BladeEngage) l everinthe disengaged (OFF) p ositionand
engage the parkingbrake.
2.
Lowerthe deckbymovingthe decklift leverintothe bottomnotchon the
rightfender.
3.
Remove t he self-tappingscrew CA) t hatsecures the belt-keeper r odfrom
around the tractor'sPTO pulley,then remove the belt keeperrod(B).See
Figure 18.
Note:Makeamentalnotewhat holethe otherendof the belt-keeper r odis
inserted i nfor reinstallation purposes.
4.
Remove t he belt (C)from aroundthetractor'sPTO pulley.SeeFigure18.
Avoid pinchinginjuries. N everplaceyourfingers on the idlerspringor
betweenthe belt and apulley while removingthe belt.

6.
Repeat t heabove stepson the tractor'sright side.
NOTE: Thebow-tieclipsshouldbere-installed from the top down.
7.
Movethe decklift leverinto the top notchonthe right fenderto raisethe
decklift armsupandout ofthe way.
