ParkingBrakeLever
Tosetthe parkingbrake:Fullydepress t he brakepedal.Movethe
parkingbrakeleverintothe parkingbrakeposition.Release t he
brakepedalto allowthe parkingbrake to engage.
Torelease the parkingbrake: D epress t he brakepedalandthe
parkingbrakeleverwill moveout of the parkingbrakepositionon
itsown.Theparkingbrake will thenbe released. Release t he brake
pedal.
NOTE: Theparkingbrakemustbesetif the operator leaves the seat
with the enginerunningorthe enginewill automatically shut off.
Throttle/chokeControlLever

SLOW
Thethrottle/choke controlleverislocated onthe
left sideof the tractor'sdashpanel.Thislever
controls the speed of theengineandwhenpushed
all the wayforward,the chokecontrolalso. W hen
setinagivenposition,thethrottle will maintaina
uniformenginespeed.
IMPOR@N#Whenoperating the tractor with the cutting
deck engaged, the throttle/choke control lever must
always be in the FAST (rabbit) position.
ignition Switch
Thekeyswitchmoduleisusedtostart andstopthe engine.Insert
keyintothe keyswitchmoduleandturn clockwise to the START
position.Release the keyintothe normal m owingpositiononce
enginehasstarted.Theheadlights will beactivatedautomatkally.
Tostopthe engine,turn the ignitionkeycounterclockwise to the
STOP p osition.
IMPORTANT: Priorto operatingthe
tractor,referto boththe "Safety
InterlockSystem" a nd"StartingThe
Engine" laterinthissectionof this
manual f ordetailedinstructions
regarding the IgnitionSwitch
Module.
Neverleavearunning machineunattended.AlwaysdisengagePTO (Blade
Engage Lever), m oveshift leverintoneutralposition, set parkingbrake,
stop engineand removekeyto prevent unintendedstarting.
Seat Adjustment Lever
Theseatadjustment l everislocatedbelowthe front/left of the seat.Thelever
allowsforadjustment o f the foreandaft positionof the seat.Refer t o the Assembly
sectionof the manualformoredetailedinstructions foradjustingthe seatposition.
Auto-drivepedal
Thedrivepedalis located onthe right sideof the tractor,alongthe runningboard.
Depress t he drivepedalforwardandthe tractorwill moveinthe directionthatthe
shift leverisengaged in.Tocause the tractorto travelforward,whileata complete
stop,movethe shift leverinto the Forwardposition. G radually s teponthe drive
pedalandthe tractorwill beginto moveforward.TomoveinReverse, follow the
sameprocedure o nlymovethe shift leverintothe reverse position.
Thegroundspeed iscontrolled with thedrivepedal. T hefurther forwardthat the
pedalis pivoted,thefasterthetractorwill travel.Thepedal w ill returnto its original
positionwhenit'snot depressed. R efer t o the Operation sectionofthis manual f or
detailedinstructions regarding the drivepedal.
IMPOR@NT_ A lways set the parking brake when leaving the tractor
unattended.
DeckLift Lever
Found on yourtractor'srightfender, t he decklift leverisusedto
change the heightof the cuttingdeck.Touse,movethe levertothe
left, thenplaceinthe notchbestsuitedforyourapplication.
PTO (Blade Engage) Lever
Found on the tractor'srightfender,the PTO (bladeengage) l ever
isusedto engage powerto thecuttingdeckorother(separately
available) a ttachments. T ooperate,movethe leverall the way
forward.Moving the leverall the wayrearwardintothe PTO OFF
positiondisengages p owerto thecutting deck/attachment.
NOTE:ThePTO (blade engage) lever must be in the
disengaged (PTO OFF) position when starting the engine.
CupHolder
Thetractor'scupholderislocated on the fenderto the left of the seat.
Shift Love r
Theshift leverislocated on the left side
of the fenderandhasthreepositions,
FORWARD,
NEUTRAL andREVERSE.
The
brakepedalmustbedepressed a ndthe
tractormustnot beinmotionwhenthe
movingshift lever.
IMPORTAN_ N ever f orcethe shift lever.
Doing somayresultinserious damage to
the tractor'stransmission.
Brake Pedal
REVERSE
Thebrakepedalis located onthe left sideofthe lawntractor,alongthe running
board.Depress t he brakepedal t o engage the discbrake andbringthe tractorto a
completestop.
NOTE: Thepedalmustbedepressed tostart the engine.Refer t o Safety Interlock
Switches laterin thissectionof thismanual.
