Carefully remove the PTO cablefrom the rearof the cuttingdeckby
removing the bow-tiecotterpinwhichsecures i t. Remove t hespringfrom
the deckidlerbracket. S eeFigure 20.
Gentlyslidethe cuttingdeck(fromthe left side)out from underneath the
tractor.
Tires
Neverexceedthe maximum inflation pressureshown on the sidewall of
tire.
Therecommended operating tire pressureis:
Approximately 1 0psifor the rear tires
Approximately 1 4psifor thefront tires
IMPORTANT: Refer t o the tire sidewall f orexacttire manufacturer's
recommended or maximum psi.Donot overinflate. U neven tire pressure could
cause the cuttingdeck to mowunevenly.
Battery

If removing the battery, disconnect the NEGATIVE (Black)wire from its
terminal first, followed bythe POSITIVE (Red)wire. Whenre-installing
the battery, alwaysconnectthe POSITIVE (Red)wire to its terminal first,
followed bythe NEGATIVE (Black)wire.
Never jump start a damaged or frozen battery. Be certain the vehicles
do not touch, and ignitions are off. Do not allow cable clamps to
touch.
1. Connect p ositive(+) cableto positivepost(+) of yourtractor'sdischarged
battery.
2. Connect t he otherendof the cableto the (positive+) postof thejumper
battery.
3. Connect t he second cable(negative -) to the otherpostof thejumper
battery.
4. Connect t he otherendof the negativecableto the engineblockofthe
tractor,awayfrom the battery.Attachto anunpaintedpartto assure agood
connection.
If the jumper battery is installedon a vehicle(i.e.car,truck),do NOT start
the vehicle's enginewhen jump starting yourtractor.
5. Startthe tractor(asinstructed earlierinthissectionof thismanual).
6. Setthe tractor'sparkingbrakebeforeremoving the jumpercables, i n reverse
orderof connection.

Ifyourtractorhasnot beenput into useforanextendedperiodof time,chargethe
batteryasfollows:
1. Setyourbatterycharger t o delivera maxof 10amperes.
2. Ifyourbatterycharger i sautomatic, c hargethe batteryuntilthe charger
indicatesthatcharging iscomplete. I f thechargerisnot automatic, c harge
for nofewerthaneighthours.
Fuse
One 20AMPfuseisinstalledinyourtractor'swiring harness t o protectthe tractor's
electrical s ystemfromdamage caused byexcessive a mperage.
Ifthe electrical s ystemdoesnot function,or yourtractor'senginewill not crank,
first check to becertainthatthe fusehasnot blown.It canbefoundat the rearof
the unit, underneath the fenderlocatedbythe battery.
Alwaysusea fusewith the sameamperagecapacityfor replacement.
