Cleaning the EngineAndDeck
Anyfuel or oil spilledonthe machine shouldbewipedoff promptly.DoNOT allow
debris to accumulate around the enginecoolingfinsof the engineor onanyother
partof the machine.
iMPORTANT: Theuseof apressure washer to cleanyourtractorisNOT
recommended. It maycause damage to electrical c omponents, spindles, p ulleys,
bearings or the engine.
Deck Wash
System
Your t ractor'sdeckisequipped witha waterporton its surface aspart of itsdeck
washsystem.
Use the deckwashto rinsegrass clippingsfrom thedeck'sunderside andprevent
the buildupof corrosive chemicals. Complete the following steps AFTER E ACH
MOWING:
Drive the tractorto alevel,clearspoton yourlawn,nearenough for your
garden hoseto reach.

Turnthe wateron.

Whilesitting inthe operator's positiononthe tractor,startthe engineand
placethe throttle leverinthe FAST ( rabbit)position.

Movethe tractor'sPTO (Blade Engage) i ntothe ON position.
8.
Remain inthe operator's positionwith the cuttingdeckengaged fora
minimumof two minutes,allowingthe underside of the cuttingdeckto
thoroughlyrinse.
9.
Movethe tractor'sPTO (Blade Engage) i nto the OFF position.
10.
Turnthe ignitionkeyto the STOP p ositionto turn the tractor'sengineoff.
11.
Turnthe wateroff anddetachthe hosecoupler f rom the waterporton your
deck'ssurface.
Aftercleaning yourdeck,returnto the operator's positionandengage the PTO. Keep
the cuttingdeckrunningfor aminimumof two minutes, a llowingthe underside of
the cuttingdeckto thoroughlydry.
Makecertainthe tractor's dischargechuteisdirected AWAY from your house,
garage,parkedcars,etc.

Disengage t he PTO (BladeEngage), setthe parkingbrakeandstopthe
engine.
3.
Thread the hosecoupler(packaged w ith yourtractor'sOperator's Manual)
ontothe endof yourgardenhose.
4.
Attachthe hosecoupler t o the waterport onyourdeck's surface. S eeFigure
