Select Zoom Microphone Mode
The zoom microphone lets you wcord sounds from a distance. It can automatically
seh, ct the optimum sound when the" zoom I_'ns is zoom_'d out.

Press in the Lock button wifile setting the
POWER switch to CAMERA.
Repeatedly press the MENUiI)ISPLAYbutton to
display
the menu screen.
Press • or • to select _ and then press SIH'to
display the AHI)IO _'_E77
Press • or • to select ZOOMMICi and then
press SEZ
Press • or • to select the ZOOM MIC mode
you want and press 3'IH:
• Select OFFto turn tim zoom microphone off.
The built in microphone is turned on. ['his
allows you to record a wider range of sound
than with the zoom microphone for normal
recording.
• Select AUTO to have the camcorder
automatically select the optimom sound
according to the magnification of the zoom
lens. When the zoom lens is zoomed out, the
built in microphone is used to record sounds.
As you zoom in, the sounds from the zoom
microphone are mixed according to the zoom
setting.
• Select 77KEto have the zoom microphone
only record sounds at a distance. The builbin
microphone is turned off.
Press the MENU/DISPLAY button until the menu
screen turns off.
Note: Zoom Mic setting is fixed to AUTO
in the EASY mode.
