Backlight Compensation Function
This prevents a recording subject from being recorded darker in backlight,
(Backlight is the light that shines from behind a recording subject,)
1 Press the [BACK LIGHT] Button..
eThe [['_l] Indication O flashes and then is displayed,
To resume normal Recording
Press the Backlight Button [BACK UGHT],
eWhen the [BACK LIGHT] Button is pressed, the entire screen becomes
brighter,
* By opel'ating the [OFF/ON/MODEl Switch, the Backlight Compensation
Function is cancelled.
Recording in Special Situations
(Program AE)
Select optimal automatic exposures under specific recording situations.
1 Set the Mode Selector Switch to [MANUAL].
• The [MNL] Indication appears.
2 Set [CAMERA FUNCTIONS] >> [CAMERA SETUP] >>
[PROG.AE] >> a desired Mode [ _ ], [_], [-_], [1_1], [8";'].
• The Indication of the selected Mode is displayed.
[ _1_ ] Sports Mode
For Recording scenes involving quick movements, such as spods scenes.
[_._] Portrait Mode 0
Focuses on the main subject of the image and leaves the background slightly
out of focus.
[._] Low Ught Mode
Preserves the mood of dim light settings without altering picture brightness.
[[_]] Spotlight Mode _)
Neutralizes lhe additional brightness created by a spot light.
[8 _;.] Surf & Snow Mode 0
Compensates for excessive illumination from sun glare to produce a clear
picture.
Canceling the Program AE Function
Set [PROG.AE] on the [CAMERA SETUP] Sub-Menu to [OFF]. Or, set the
Mode Selector Switch to [AUTO].
