To compose photographs
with off-center subjects:

Position the subject in the focus frame.

Focus,

Recompose the picture,
Keeping the shutter button pressed halfway,
recompose the picture.
Press the shutter button
halfway to set fo-
cus and exposure.
Focus and exposure (and
in _
mode, parallax; pg. 15) will remain
locked while the shutter button
is pressed
halfway (AF/AE lock).
Press
ha/fwoy
Repeat steps 1 and 2 as desired to refocus
before taking the picture.

Shoot.
Press the shutter-release
button
the rest of
the way down to take the picture.
