Configuring and Managing Zoning

This section contains detailed steps for establishing new zones and zone sets in a fabric.
Steps are also provided for other zoning tasks. In addition, a quick reference chart on using
zoning options and dialog boxes to perform specific zoning tasks is included in Table 3 on
page 92.

Opening the Fabric Manager

You configure and manage all zoning through the Fabric Manager. To access the Fabric
Manager:
1. In the HP EFC Manager's Product View or Session View, choose Fabric from the View
menu.
The Fabric View displays.
2. In the Fabric View, click a fabric icon.
The Topology View displays as the default view.
Point to the Fabric Manager's Configure icon to display a menu of zoning options.

Zoning Menu

Using zoning options available from the Configure menu you can establish zones for
devices attached to ports in one product (single-switch fabric) or in multiple products
linked through ISLs. Multiple managed products linked through ISLs is called a multiswitch
fabric.
