When you want
to record a su[zject at close range, move the
power zoonl lever to W (wide angle), then
adjust tile locus.
• Tile nlinimum possible distance between
cguncorder and subject while maintaining
sharp
locus is about 1 cm {about 13/32 in.) lot wide
angle grad about 80 cln (abolu 2 518 lceI) lk]r
telephoto.
• The setting returns to [AUTO] when you set the
POWER switch to OFF (CHG) lk>lmore than 12
hours.
• You can also adjust file locus manually using
the CAM CTRL dial (p. 72).
This is useful to shoot small su'c_jects, such
as flowers or insects. You can blur out
backgrounds and the sub.ject stands out
clearer.
When you set [TELE MACRO] to [ON]
(T_), the zoom (p. 32) moves to the top of
the T (Telephoto) side mttomatically and
allows for recording subjects at a close
distance, down to about 37 cm (14 5/8 in.).
To cancel,
touch
[OFF],
or zoom
to wide-
angle (W side).
• When recording a distain su[_ject, locusing nlay
be difficult and cgm take some time,
• Adjust the locus manually ([FOCUSI, p. 54)
when il is hard 1o locus automatically.
You can set this l_tnction when you use the
builtdn flash or an external flash (optional)
that is compatible with your camcorder.

Set [REDEYE REDUC] to tONI, then press
(flash) (p. 33) repeatedly to select a

reduce mdeye belbm the flash autonlatically
flashes when there is msuflicient ambient
light.

to the normal
