Moisture condensation
If your camcorder is brought directly from a
cold place to a warm place, moisture may
condense inside your camcorder, on tile
surface of tile tape. or on the lens. In this
state, the tape may stick to tile head drum
and be damaged or your camcorder may not
operate correctly. If there is moisture inside
your camcorder. [rltA Moisture
condensation. Eject tile cassette] or [rlt
Moisture condensation. Turn off for IH.]
appears. The indicator will not appear when
tile moisture condenses ou tile lens.

qjection will work. Eject tile cassette, turn
off your camcorder, and leave it for about
one hour with the cassette lid open. Your
camcorder can be used again when both of
the lk)ll()witlg conditions are met:
• The warning
message
does
not appear
when

power is lllrned on.
• Neither [] or A flash when a cg_sseue is inserted
and video operation buttons are louched.
If moisture starts to condense, your
camcorder sometimes cannot detect
condensation. If this happens, the cassette is
sometimes not ejected for 10 seconds alter
the cassette lid is opened. This is not a
malfunction.
Do not close tile cassette lid
until the cassette is ejected.
M Note on moisture condensation
Moisture tua_ condense when you bring
your camcorder from a cold place into a
warm place (or vice versa) or when you use
your camcorder in a humid place as shown
below.
• When you bring your camcorder hom a ski
slope into a place warmed up by a beating
device.
• When you bring your canlcorder from an air
condilioned car or room into a hoI place oulside,

When you bring _ottr c:uncoMer from :,
cold place into a warm place, put your
camcorder in a plastic bag attd seal it
tightly. Remove the bag when the air
temperature inside the plastic bag has
reached the surrounding temperature/after
about one hour).
Videohead
If you play back a tape recorded in HDV
format, tile image and sound may freeze for
a while (about 0.5 seconds).
This occurs if the HDV signals cannot be
recorded or played back correctly because
of dirt on tile tape or video head. Depending

If this freezing point is created while
playing back, you can solve this problem

slightly forwarding. Such a lheezing point
cannot be recovered if it was created while
recording.
To prevent such a problem, use tile Sony
mini DV cassette.
