Aboutthe "InfoLITHIUM" battery pack
This unit is compatible with an
'%foLITHIUM" battery pack (P series).
Your camcorder operates only with an
'%foLITHIUM" battery pack.
'%foLITHIUM" P series battery packs
have the (1),,,,o.T,_o_ Q mark.
What is an "InfoLITHIUIVI" battery
pack?
An "InfoLITHIUM" battery pack is a
lithiumqou battery pack that has ftmctious
for comnmnicating information related to
operating conditions between your
camcorder and an optional AC Adaptor/
charger.
The "InfoLITHIUM" baltery pack
calculates the power consumption
according to the operating conditions of
your camcorder, and displays the remaining
battery time in minutes.
With an AC Adaptoffcharger. the remaining
battery time and charging time appear.
To chargethe battery pack
• Be sure to charge tile battery pack betore you

• We recommend charging tile battery pack in an
ambient temperature of between 10 °C 1o 30 °C
(50 °F 1o 86 °F) until the CHG (charge) lamp
turns olE If you charge tile baue W pack oulsMe
of this lemperature range, you lnay not be able
to charge it efficiently.
• After charging is complete, disconnect the cable
hom the DC IN jack on your camcorder or
remove the bauery pack.
To use the batterypack effectively
• Battery pack pertormance declvases when tile
surrounding tenlperamre is l0 °C 150 °F) or
below, and tile length of time you call use tile
battery pack becmnes shorter. In fllat case, do
one of the %llowing to u_ tile battery pack lor a
longer tinle.

and inert it in your camcorder right belore
you start taking sbols.
Use a large capacily baltel T pack: NP-PP71/
PP90 (optional).
• Frcquenl
use of the LCD screen or a fl'cquent
playback, l,Jst lorward or rewind operation
wears out the balte W pack laster.
We mconnnend using a large capacity bauel T
pack: NP-FP7 I/FP90.
• Be sure to set the POWER swilch 1o OFF
(CHG) when not recording or playing back on
your camcorder. The baltery pack is also
consumed when your cginlcorder is ill recordillg
standby or playback pause.
• Have spare battely packs ready k_r two or three
times the expeclcd recording time, and make
trial recordings belbre making file actual
recording.
• Do not expose tile bauery pack to water. Tile
bauery pack is no[ water rcsistanl.

• When tile power goes oil e_en though tile

the battery pack has enough power to operate.

battery time will be indicated correctly. Note.
however, that the bauery indicalion will not be
restored if it is used ill high temperatures R>r a
long time. or if lelt in a hilly charged stale, or
when the battely pack is lrequently used. Use
file remaining battery time indication as a rough
guide only.

even if there are still 5 to 10 minutes of battery
tinle remaining, depending on the operating
condilions or anlbient temperature.
About storage of the batterypack
• If the battery pack is not used lor a long tinle,

• To discharge the battery pack on your
