In this menu you can store and change the
number of your voicemail service and the
number of the SMS service. You can also de-
termine settings for other message opera-
tions, such as message type and validity.
The Short Message Service (SMS) and the
Voicemail Service are network features.
SMS SERVICE NUMBER
In this menu you can store the SMS service
number, which is needed for sending nor-
mal short messages and telematics protocol
messages.
However, if you are supplied with a sepa-
rate SMS service number for telematics pro-
tocol messages, you may store the number
in the
Main menu
,
Settings, Telematics set-
tings, Protocol settings
Message setup
.
The number must be set correctly, other-
wise sending short messages is not possi-
ble.
The currently active setting is shown inside
the brackets. If the SMS number displayed
.
is correct, press
previous menu level.
If the number is incorrect, change the num-
-
ber by pressing
CHANGE
By selecting the option
SMS service number will be picked up from
the SIM card. Confirm the new number by

pressing
.

If the SIM card does not contain the SMS

number, use

Key in the SMS number and press
If you have stored the number in the phone
book, you can also recall it from there by
