Jams Behind Front Cover

Use the following hints and tips when
clearing jams behind the Front Cover:
Remove all visible paper.
Verify the Deskew Sensor is
present and moves freely.
Clean the Feed Rollers only if
they are visibly dirty.
To improve clearance, lift the
paper guide until it snaps into
place as shown to the right.

Jams Inside Preheater

If paper scraps are located inside the Preheater,
use the following procedure to remove them:
1. Open the Front Cover and Exit Cover.
2. Lift the Paper Guide and snap it into
the "up" position, as shown to the
right.
3. Insert a sheet of card stock just below
the metal Deskew Roller (see example
for location).
4. In the exit area, rotate the Paper
Release Guide away from the Drum.
5. Watch the exit area while gently pushing the card stock through the Preheater.
6. Remove the scraps pushed through by the card stock.
7. Remove the card stock from the printer.
If you are unable to push the card stock through the Preheater, use card stock
that is thin enough to fit between the Transfix Roller and Drum.
