PC-FAX FUNCTION
The PC-Fax Function allows you to fax documents from your desktop. You can
use any of several applications on your PC to create a document, then fax
it directly from your PC (PC must be connected to the network). Because there's
no need to print the document before faxing it, there's less paper waste and lower
costs. This paperless process also makes it easier to manage the data you send
and ensures that the sent documents are clear and easy to read, free of smudges,
faded sections and other potential degradation.
The PC Fax Utility is available as a separate utility, but it works exactly like a print driver.
The advantage of a separate utility enables users to save the PC Fax driver as a default
so that it can be selected at any time for immediate faxing from the desktop.
It eliminates the need of having to select the fax function within the print driver.
Using the PC-Fax RX function, you can store the received fax in a Box without
printing it out. Or you can print out the document at the same time as saving
it in a Box.
CONFIRM ADDRESS
This function requires inputting the destination fax number twice to prevent
registering the incorrect fax number in the address book and ultimately transmitting
to the wrong fax number.
FAX RECEPTION USING BOXES
When enabling the PC-Fax Reception function or forced Memory Reception
function (i.e. Substitute Memory), the incoming fax can be saved into a User Box
on the hard disk instead of printing out. Confi dential documents can also be
automatically saved in a Confi dential User Box. This helps prevent wasted printing
because the user can select only the necessary data for printing. The received
documents can also be sorted into specifi ed Boxes according to the sender's
phone number or other means of identifi cation (TSI User Box Function).
When the 2nd Fax Line Kit is installed, you can designate which line (Line 1 or Line 2)
will store incoming faxes into a User Box (PC Fax Reception).
