6. Enter the following default information (if the information has been changed, enter the
correct information):
7. Click OK to enter the information and access the browser-based configuration screens.
After logging into the WAP200G you can change the default User Name and
Password.
8. Press the Administration tab, from the Configuration Utility, to open the Administration page.
9. Navigate down the page to the Upgrade Firmware section.
10. Verify you have downloaded the latest WAP200G firmware file from the www.amx.com >
Tech Center > Downloadable Files > Firmware Files > NetLinx > NXA-WAP200G section
of the website.
11. Save any newly downloaded firmware file to a known location on your computer. The
WAP200G firmware file contains updates to one or both firmware components.
12. Press the Browse button to navigate through the directory structure on your source computer
and locate the new firmware.
13. Highlight the new firmware by selecting it and press Open to return to the Upgrade Firmware
section of the Administration page. The directory path and filename are now entered into
the File to Upload field.
14. Press the Upload button to begin the process of uploading and incorporating the new firmware
component to the target WAP200G.
15. Press the OK button from the new upload confirmation popup dialog. The web browser
download indicator bargraphs notifies you about the progress of the download.
You MUST be connected via Ethernet in order to properly upgrade the on-board
firmware. If you are connected wirelessly while trying to upload the firmware, you will
get a generic error message on the top portion of the Administration page.
16. Physically cycle power to the unit by removing and re-inserting the rear power connector.
17. After the unit has been given a few seconds to reboot, launch the web browser, enter the IP
Address of the target WAP200G (Static IP Address is preferred), and locate the firmware
version information from within the Status page.
18. Confirm the firmware version of the updated file is correctly displayed. If the firmware version
is not correct, return to the Administration page and repeat the above procedures for uploading
firmware.

After a few seconds into the upload process, the Administration page is replaced with a
Firmware Upload Success page. This page notifies you that a successful upload of the
firmware has been accomplished, the WAP200G will be rebooted, and you should restart
your web browser to re-establish communication to the WAP200G (with new firmware
incorporated).
