Installation

In this section we are using terminology and abbreviations that refer to different wireless concepts.
The following table lists some of the most common terms:
Commonly Used Terms
PoE
WAP
WEP
WPA
Do not install the WAP200G inside a rack, the metallic composition will interfere/block
the radio signal.

WAP Location and Antenna Direction

The best location for the WAP200G is usually in the center of your wireless network, with line of
sight to all of your mobile devices. Try to place the antenna in a position that can best cover your
wireless network. Normally, the higher you place the antenna, the better performance you receive.

Mounting the WAP200G using the mounting holes

Use the included mounting kit to install the included screws into the mounting holes located on the
underside of the unit. The necessary mounting hole locations are outlined within FIG. 14 below.

NXA-WAP200G Wireless Access Point
This is an IEEE (802.3af) standard for distributing both power and data through either a CAT5
or CAT6 cable from a centralized PoE supply equipment to the terminal WAP (that
separates the power and data). A CAT5 cable is used for 10/100 Mbps transfers and a CAT6
cable is used for Gigabit transfers.
Refers to the NXA-WAP200G Wireless Access Point.
Short for Wired Equivalent Privacy, is a security protocol for wireless networks that
authenticate users, encrypt transmitted data, and protect the integrity of the data being
transferred.
Short for Wi-Fi Protected Access, was designed to improve upon the security features of
WEP. This technology is designed to work with existing Wi-Fi products that have been
enabled with WEP. It has two main benefits over WEP communication: improved data
encryption and user authentication.
