Tutorial: Applying a texture to a single face

Textures can be applied to the entire object or to a single face depending on the setting in the Apply To fi eld in the
Surface tab of the Inspector palette. In this example, you'll apply a texture to the front of a grandfather clock.
1 Locate the Help\Tutorials\Clock folder under the directory where Atmosphere was installed. It should be a path
similar to c:\Program Files\Adobe\Atmosphere\Help\Tutorials\Clock. After navigating to your folder in the open
dialog, select the fi le clock.atmo and press Open.
2 Select the View > Player View (F4) menu command to open a Player view window. Select the View > Fit All
(Ctrl+0) menu command to size the window to see both Box objects.
3 Select Window > Paint Presets to open the Paint Presets palette. Select the Add Texture Preset from the palette
menu and locate the same folder as step 1, select the fi le named R_clock_2_bottom.jpg and click Open.
4 Select the clock face texture. Then open the Surface tab in the Inspector palette and select the Face option in the
Apply To drop-down list. Click on an object face. Note that the texture is applied to just the face, instead of the
whole object.
