Parameters—finishing
O
Plunging behavior (default: 0)
O=0 (vertical plunge): The cycle moves the tool to the
starting point; the tool plunges and finishes the pocket.
Q=1 (Approaching arc with depth feed): When machining
the upper milling planes, the tool advances to the milling
plane and then approaches on an arc. When machining the
bottom milling plane, the tool plunges to the milling depth
while moving on the approaching arc (three-dimensional
approaching arc). You can use this approach behavior only
in conjunction with an approaching arc "R" and when
machining from the outside toward the inside (Q=1).
For the cutting direction, machining direction and direction of tool
rotation, please refer to table G846 in the User's Manual.
Cycle run
1 Starting position (X, Y, Z, C) is the position before the cycle
begins.
2 Calculate the proportioning of cuts (infeeds to the milling planes,
infeeds in the milling depths).
3 Move to the safety clearance and plunge to the first milling depth.
4 Mill the first plane.
5 Retract by the safety clearance, return and cut to the next milling
depth.
6 Repeat steps 4 and 5 until the complete area is milled.
7 Return to "retraction plane J."
