Viewing System Settings

The System tab displays configuration information for the HP Media Vault. The
Media Vault administrator can edit these settings.
To view system settings
At the computer, click Start, All Programs, HP Media Vault, and

then Control Center.
On the Tools tab, click Customize HP Media Vault.

You are prompted for an administrator name and password if you set one
up. For additional information, see

The following information can be viewed from the Systems Settings tab.
System Name
You can change the name of the HP Media Vault. This is useful if you
have more than one Media Vault on the same network. The default
network name is HPMediaVault.
Keep in mind that renaming a Media Vault forces all your network
computers to remap their shared network resources, such as mapped
drives. It is best to only change the Media Vault name during the initial
setup.
Do not include spaces in the name. Only 15 alphanumeric characters are
allowed.
Admin User Name
The HP Media Vault's administrator user name. There is only one
administrator for the Media Vault.
The administrator user name and password are used to access and make
changes to the HP Media Vault Administration console. The administrator
does not have access to other HP Media Vault features. To create a user
for remote access features such as Internet file browsing and HP Photo
Webshare, see
Password
The HP Media Vault does not come pre-set with an administrator user
name or password, which means that anyone on your network can work
as an administrator. This simplifies getting started, but not having an
