Adjustment Remote Controller
An EVR (electronic variable resistor) is used as the adjustment
element for the camera block, replacing the conventional
semi-fixed resistor. The EVR is controlled by the camera control
microcomputer (IC501 on VC-95 board). This microcomputer
reads the data written
in the nonvolatile
memory
of the
microcomputer and sends it to the EVR. The EVR D-A converts
this data (8 bits for each adjustment point) and creates the
adjustment voltage.
Thus, it is necessary to change the adjustment data contained in
the nonvolatile memory when adjusting the camera block, and
the adjustment memory is used for this purpose.
The
adjustment
remote
controller
performs
bidirectional
communications with the caméra control microcomputer using
the remote control signal lines (LANC). Adjustment page,
adjustment addresses and adjustment data increment/decrement
commands are sent to the camera control microcomputer from
the adjustment remote controller. Adjustment page, adjustment
addresses and adjustment data are sent from the camera control
microcomputer to the adjustment remote controller.

Use of adjustment remote controller
Connect the adjustment remote controller to the remote
terminal (J901 on SW-175 board).
Tum on the power of the main unit.
Set the HOLD switch of the adjustment remote controller to
the HOLD position (SERVICE position).)
If the connection is correct, the following is displayed on the
adjustment remote control LCD.

Presssing
the EDIT
SEARCH
(+)
increments
the
adjustment
page.
Pressing
the EDIT
SEARCH (-) decrements it. The adjustment p a g e is shown
in the hexadecimal numbers and there are 16 of them from 0
to F. The CAMERA adjustment page is page F and Pressing
the EDIT SEARCH (-) button one push. (The adjustment
data varies from one set to another.)

6) Specify your desired adjustment address by the adjustment
remote controller. Pressing the FF ( >» ) button increments
the adjustment address, and pressing the REW (««) button
decrements it.
(The adjustment address is shown in the decimal number
and there are 256 of them from 00 to FF. The adjustment
address corresponds to the output terminal of the EVR
(IC301 on the VC-95 board, IC504 on the VC-95 board, and
1C004 of the MX-10
board). Refer to Table 8-2 for
adjustment of each address.)

Make adjustment by increasing/decreasing the adjustment
data. Pressing the PLSY
( >» ) button
increases
the
adjustment data, and pressing the STOP
( Mf ) button
decreases it.

Perfom adjustment by incrementing or decrementing the
adjustment data. The adjustment data is incremented
by
pressing the PLAY ( » ) button. The adjustment data is
decremented by pressing the STOP ( Ml) button.
© The adjustment data is indicated in hexadecimal.
There are 256 values from 00 to FF.

Change the adjustment address with the FF ( >» ) or REW
()) button in order to store the adjustment data into the
non-volatile memory built in the EVR/AWB microcomputer
(VC-95 board IC501).
(If this operation is omitted, new adjustment data will not be
stored into the non-volatile memory.)
There is a function provided to make note of the last error
cuased by the COUNTER RESET button during operation
of the set even if the power is turned off. This LAST
MEMO EMERGENCY (last error) can be cleared.

Precuations on use of adjustment remote
controller
It is possible to accidentally erase correct adjustment data due to
an error in operation of the adjustment remote controller. In order
to prevent this, we recommend that you make a note of all
adjustment data before adjustment and record the new adjustment
data after completing each adjustment item.
