RECORDING FROM A TAPE, THE
RADIO,
ACD OR CONNECTED
EQUIPMENT

MD DISPLAY
To check the recordable time of the MD
The recordable time on the MD is displayed.
the source to be recorded.
+ To record from a tape, press the TAPE button and insert a
tape.
* To record from the radio, press the TUNER/BAND
button
and tune in to a station.
* To record from equipment connected to the VIDEO/AUX
jacks, press the VIDEO/AUX button.
3 Press the MD MODE button.
"Mark MODE?" is displayed for 10 seconds.
To register index marks automatically at the beginning of each
track, select "Mark: AUTO?".
To register index marks every 5 minutes, select "Mark: Time?".
To record without index marks, select "Mark: OFF?".
6 Press the MD REC button.
The unit enters the standby mode. Wait until the source name
selected at step 2 is displayed.

7 Press the II button to start recording.
When recording from connected equipment, start playback
of the connected equipment.
To stop recording
Press the ll button.
When recording stops, "TOC EDIT" is
displayed and the contents (TOC) of the recording are recorded
on the MD.
To add index marks during recording
Press the ENTER
button, and an index mark is registered
regardless of the index mark mode selected at step 4.
To record on a previously recorded MD
If there is an unrecorded section left on the MD, the new recording
automatically starts from where the previous recording finished.
if you want to start recording from the beginning of a previously
recorded MD, erase the previous recording completely.

To change the display during recording
Press the MD DISPLAY button. With each press of the button,
the display changes in the following order.
@ Source
(Example: AUX)
@ Recordable time on MD
(Example:
MD
—36:15)
(@) Track number and elapsed recording time of MD
However, see page 20 for the display when the source is a CD.
