6 Press the PST CUT IN/OUT button.
The button will tight, and the characters are added on
the picture on the preset monitor.
if necessary, adjust the size and position of the inserted
characters.
Letters to be inserted
7 Tum the KEY LEVEL control so that the inserted characters
will be clear.

8 Tum the EDGE control so that the flicker at the edge of the
cut
INSERT
characters will stop.
This step is not necessary for the characters from the
SMC-70G/70GP.
9 Aaijust the color with the COLOR MATT stick and LUM
control when the CM is selected in.step 5.
The adjusting method is the same as that of the
background color. Réfer to "HOW TO SELECT THE
BACKGROUND COLOR"
10 insert the characters into the program picture with the
PGM CUT IN/OUT button or INSERT lever.
To insert the characters instantaneously
(Cut in)
Press the PGM CUT IN/OUT button. The button lights, and
the chatacters are instantaneously inserted into the
picture.
To insert the characters gradually (Fade in)
Move the INSERT lever from the PGM position to the
INSERT position. At the INSERT position, the PGM CUT
IN/OUT button lights.

To delete the inserted letters on the preset monitor
Press the PST CUT IN/OUT button. The added letters
disappear and the button will go out.
To delete the inserted letters on the program monitor
To delete instantaneously (Cut out)
Press the PGM CUT IN/OUT button. The inserted letters
disappear and the button goes out.
To delete gradually (Fade out)
