Aerodynamics
Air turbulence increases aerodynamic resist-
ance and therefore fuel consumption. Air tur-
bulence occurs in particular at additionally
installed equipment, e.g. auxiliary head-
lamps.
Set the wind deflector to the correct height

of the add-on equipment/semitrailer

Important safety notes
G
WARNING
Flammable material such as leaves, grass or
twigs may ignite if they come into contact with
hot parts of the exhaust system or exhaust
gas flow. There is a risk of fire.
Park the vehicle so that no flammable mate-
rial can come into contact with hot vehicle
components. In particular, do not park on dry
grassland or harvested grain fields.
! During automatic and manual regenera-
tion, extremely hot exhaust gases escape
from the exhaust pipe. Maintain a distance
of at least 1 metre to other objects, e.g.
parked vehicles, in order to avoid damage
to property.
If you drive the vehicle predominantly over
short distances or with low loads, automatic
regeneration may not be sufficient.
