Access control
Visibility of some menu/parameter items is based on configuration and access level. Although all
visible items and their settings can be viewed in the HMI menu, parameters can be protected
against changes through access level control.
To gain access enter parameter view with security enabled ("Enable user PIN") and select one
of the access levels:
• Read only
Allows no configuration. The parameter values can be viewed only (indicated by a symbol).
No PIN code required.
• User
Allows configuration and service of all parameters except calibration parameters. Default PIN
code is 2457.
• Expert
Allows configuration and service of all parameters. This access level is only available for the
manufacture.
PIN codes can be changed in menu "Security" (5).
Note
Lost PIN code
• If User PIN is lost, it can be reset with expert access level.
• If Expert PIN is lost, see Recovery ID (5.3) (Page 132) under menu "Security" to reset the PIN
with the help of Siemens customer support.

Troubleshooting
Internal error occurred.
Please contact Siemens technical support.
No/Low optical transmission.
Please check the cleanliness of the process win‐
dows and/or the flange alignment. As well, check
that the purging tubes are free.
Self-calibration procedure error. Please check the
device specification (device is used out of the spec‐
ification and/or the process gas is required for ref‐
erence purposes).
Normal operation of the device.
