Frequency Response Chart
Microphone frequency response charts show how a microphone captures different frequencies.
A flat chart means the microphone captures all frequencies equally, charts with peaks or dips
mean the microphone is more or less sensitive to some frequencies. We've designed the CM25
MkIII as an all-around microphone but it works especially well for vocals and acoustic instrument
recording.

Polar Pattern Chart
Microphone polar pattern charts show how a microphone picks up sound from different
directions and at different frequencies. There are several polar pattern types, the CM25 MkIII
has a cardioid pattern. This heart-shaped pattern picks up sound mainly from the front (0º) while
rejecting sound from the sides (270º and 90º) and rear (180º). This is useful for recording while
44
minimizing background noise.
